Hey everyone! I decided to learn a song really quick and play and sing for you. "Brave" by Sara Bareilles is an inspirational song that teaches the importance of using our words to express ourselves in a healthy way. It reminds us to be brave and let others know how you feel, and not to be closed off to everyone.

Sometimes, we get an uncomfortable feeling that completely overwhelms us. We might feel really angry, sad, or frustrated at a situation and want to react in an inappropriate way that might hurt someone or ourselves. Having a COPING STRATEGY in hand can help you work through these emotions so that you can respond in a healthy and safe way! Watch the video below and complete the activity with me.
<https://youtu.be/ngHLPw93qTc> Remember: If you ever need someone to talk to, send me an email or start a chat with me! I miss you all!! Happy Earth Day everyone!! What is "Earth Day", you might ask?
Earth Day is a day we use to demonstrate support for protecting our environment. There are so many things that people do around the world to celebrate Earth Day. Some things include planting vegetables, flowers, trees, or other plants; walking, riding a bicycle, or using public transportation instead of driving; clean up the neighborhood by picking up trash; recycling; and much, much more. Here are some ideas for YOU to celebrate Earth Day. And remember: You can continue to take care of the earth every single day! 1) Take a Walk in Nature: Make sure the trail or park is open, and enjoy fresh air and nature with your family. 2) Learn How to Recycle: Unfortunately in the Tri-Cities, they no longer accept plastic or cans to recycle. :( Fortunately, you can still recycle cardboard! Find out where you can go to recycle any cardboard you have and start making a stack each week. 3) Learn About Pollution: Take time to watch videos on plastic in the ocean, what it means if something is "biodegradable", or why it's important to use sustainable materials. Think about what you can do to lessen the trash you produce to help protect the earth. 4) Go Camping: Even if it's in your backyard! Most campgrounds are closed, but why not camp in your own backyard? Find the perfect day with weather that's not too warm or cold (and make sure it's not raining!), and pitch a tent in your yard. Did YOU get to do any of things? Remember, it doesn't have to be today or even this week! If you had a chance to celebrate Earth Day and if you made a choice to help protect the earth, document it and send it to me! It can be a picture or a short paragraph that lets me know what you did. Have a great week!! During this time of uncertainty, it's very important to find balance in our lives. Whether you follow a strict schedule or if you're a little more flexible with your time, it's still a valuable thing to have balance and take care of all parts of yourself. Watch the video below, follow along the activity, and e-mail me a picture of your finished work so I can share it on the next post!
<https://youtu.be/QLvMIlLiT3A> Miss you all!! Hello Boys and Girls!!
I decided to read a book today for you all to listen to, with a fun activity at the end!! Once you finish the video attached below, the challenge is to take a selfie of yourself either: A) Holding a picture of one of the words discussed in the book (it can be the word in bubble letters decorated, or a drawing of a situation depicting the word you chose); B) Posing as what describes the word you chose; or C) Both A and B!! If you email me your picture, I will choose one to be featured on next week's blog post. :) <youtu.be/XrICJFzlVNM> Check out this video to learn about the CIRCLES OF CONTROL.
Share a picture of you and YOUR Circles of Control to be featured on the next post!! <https://youtu.be/kGEz71eSqhM> |
